How Great Is Our God

by chris tomlin

The splendor of a King
Clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice
All the earth rejoice

He wraps Himself in light
And darkness tries to hide
It trembles at His voice
Trembles at His voice

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God and all will see
How great, how great is our God

Age to age, He stands
And time is in His hands
Beginning and the end
Beginning and the end

The Godhead Three in One
Father, Spirit, Son
Lion and the Lamb
Lion and the Lamb

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God and all will see
How great, how great is our God

He's the name above all names
You are worthy of our praise
My heart will sing
How great is our God

How great, how great is our God

Psalm 16:1

hmm.. its 1.30 am here.. the latest i've ever stayed up...i wonder why..

it could be the loss of dc..but actually it only serves to make the truth all the more profound.

its like when we've lost touch, either being too lazy, or just forgotten, or can't be bothered...

Its time to get right with God. I feel like a drained, no-purpose lightbulb with now power source.

i think i skipped too many meetings with God already..

1 Chronicles 4:10

Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request.

It doesn't say that God granted part of his request, but the whole request.

Hmm.. notice and similarities when how Jesus prayed;

Our Father in heaven,
   hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
   your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.

Notice any similarities? In the final part of Jabez's prayer he asks that he be kept from harm, and free from pain. Jabez lived way way back before the time of Jesus. but in the whole bible, he was the only one to pray such a straightforward prayer.

He prays " ...bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me"

How often do we pray this? when we ask God to enlarge our territory, giving us new people to preach to,spreading the gospel, there are also all the trials that come along with it.

sometimes we are taught that its something bad to ask for good things from God? NO! God will bless you if it is in His plan to do so.

.. think about what the "hand of God" being with you means. no, not Pele's goal in the World cup.

God is just waiting for us to ask.

...there... i feel better typing out my thoughts... time to sleep, and wake up to meet God tomoro!

Of course nobody wants to see the group pics, cos the highlights of the show were the fireworks. No wait, they can't even be called fireworks, its like... an awesome glimpse into the beginning of the universe.

I would so love to include the entire video of it, but its full of stupid comments like "Wow, its like a christmas tree!" and "I see bananas!!", and my personal favourite "it looks like an exploding durian!"

and its also too big to fit in my blog.. sad.

and in the end we went to Macchiato (what a cliched name!) to have coffee.

perfect ending to a perfect day!

Sze Huey's birthday, Leanne's birthday.

DSC00717

As promised, heres a (brief) article on a special birthday girl.

I met sze Huey ...umm in INTI? but only for a short while, cos after that she defected to Intec. But our fates crossed again in ANU in 2007

She has a small stature, but a big kind heart, shes very friendly to anyone, but not naive! last year i tried to make her grow a bit by feeding her gigantic sandwiches, but i think she only ate half of them.

Happy belated birthday to Sze Huey, whose birthday was sometime last week. i can't remember when lol. No wait, its on 11th March. see, i remember!!!

Another girl, Leanne, also celebrated her birthday on Sunday, 16th March. No wait, she celebrated it on friday, but her birthday is on Sunday.

n561961920_72802_7054

unlike sze huey, leanne is taller, but thats about all that separates them. she has a really bright personality that draws other people around her. i met her in church last year, and had a few coffee talks together. which was good, cos now we're both busy busy busy...

Happy birthday Leanne!

Notice how thoughtful i am not to reveal your ages lol.

And then, Monday was Canberra Day!! yea! we went to Commonwealth Park for a free concert by Ricky Lee and Human Nature (the BSB of Australia)

and of course there was also carnival rides!

Presenting... the CLAW!

                                 IMG_1262

IMG_1263

What the Claw does is spins you round and round and round...in any direction and orientation. the best part is when it spins you 360 degrees horizontally upside down !!!! It was worth every sen of the 5 dollar ticket...

on the other hand, the beer there was also 5 bucks, which was a total rip off.
