Livin Da Life - Past Tense

Omgoodness has it really been 2 weeks since the Bus Bar Crawl?? Gosh I really feel like kicking myself for letting that wonderful weekend drag on without blogging about it.

so lets start in the beginning..., on 21st Friday...

HAH! I finished my STUPID SRES poster!!! suk that SRES!! wohoo!! freedom!! or not quite...
Friends from Sydney came over! Apparantly wanted to see Canberra cos its such a tiny town (which i dont really like) and the Floriade and stuff. Unfortunately i could only be host for today, cos was going to be busy on sat and sun...
but anyway! we went to wagamamma for dinner. it was alrite.. at least got some spicy food... which i really missed!! and then after that we went to moose and king o maileys..
apparantly the sydnians nvr go out to pubs or bars before, cos they got hihg after ONE glass! i kidd you not... it was really fun, not so much in the drinking but in the nice ambience with friends. especially later when some of us went to moose to party. =)

Sat 22!!! ITS THE DAY!! the bus bar crawl!!! okok... first we had some pre-departure drinks...and i scarfed down some extra redbull too! then we all had these black glow in the dark t shirts and headbands with crazy words on them which we were supposed to wear the whole night. It was one of the BEST nights of my life especially with all the crazy stuff that was going on , in the bus, in the clubs and stuff. Although we only visited 5 places, i was going wohoo by the 4th place... and after that what better to top of th night with Chicken gourmet!!

On Sun was recovery day.. most of us just wanted to laze around and so we had a bbq breakfast! although it wasnt really much, it was fun just to sit in the sun and chat over some drinks and good food..ANYTIME!

ON the 25th, Tues, it was the mooncake and tang lung festival!! or over here they call it the Mid-Autumn Festival.....go figure =) that night we had lovely mooncake thanks to some nice girls who went to dickson to get some, together with some lanterns. Later we had a really great time walking around the lake! wow... as one of my friends would say.. good times, good times.!

Sorry my postings have been a little erratic recently.. mostly due to the huge amount of pics, my compound format of the blog, and high assignment workload be dear ANU

Argh!!! So many many things to do.....

Weeee!!! What a blast the hols have been! And here I thought it would be super boring cos I didn’t go anywhere for the hols..
So what can one do in a tiny 2 weeks?? Lots..

On Monday, 3^rd Sept a kind Mr Yoshi brought us out to go eat some steak. Only problem is.. the bloody club was 4-5 km away….sigh…but at least got calss lo. After that we went to pancake parlour to yumcha

The next day we (when I say we I mean the unlucky ones stuck at Ursies) went to a stocktake! Bunnings had us work for a measly 3 hours.. cheh.. not even enough to cover any costs.. and then sommore got ppl complain got psycho problem from counting too many screws haha! After theat we went to 2 Yummys for dinner! Wow oh wow!! I think that place serves the best siew yok in Canberra! That day was great fun.. I think almost everyone I knew went for the stock take.. cos hols, and nothing to do ma..

On Wednesday 5^th Sep I went to Koko Black for the first time! Wohoo! Omgoodness the praline mousse with chocolate caramel centre was too much.. it was like, the first time I ALMOST didn’t finish my dessert!
After these 3 days I think I also pokai already lol…but not to worry!

On 10^th Monday, Kai Xun (bless you!) had his parents come over all the way just to cook for us! (ok I think they came to see him, but I also kena the fringe benefits lol!) the food was simple, but when I’m in Canberra, I’ll worship any food that reminds me of home..Thanks Mr and Mrs. Kai Xun!That night it seems my GENEROUS neighbour also made some herbal chicken soup! Waa it was great! Especially when other friends came back and brought MORE food! So that night was like a feast… hmmm yet another reason to move out and start cooking on my own!
Later we all played blackjack…and dear Mr Khoo was kind enough to sponsor our winnings…nuff said..hahaha!

Fast forward 2 days and FINALLY my stuff arrived from Malaysia!!!

I’ve included tons of photos this time, of all the nice stuff that happened… some of them I haven’t mentioned. But I wanna say a special farewell to Gan Sensei ( I don’t know his full name!) cos hes flying of to Jepun on 19^th Sept at 8 am.. sayonara! Wee!

Aside from all the fun I’ve been having, assignments have been going I think ok.. let see….my essay is done, so are my other assignments.. the only thing that suffered would be my exam! Maybe its cause I focused too much on the assignments… sigh.. oh well..
And now its back to studies!

list of things to do in 2 weeks :
1. 2000 word psych essay on the effects of ageing on memory and thinking....soooo interesting... =(
2. SRES poster on the economic development of Tibet (why Tibet, of all places????it sounds like a Hokkien swear word...)
3. Study for BIOL 1008 exam!!!
4. 2500 word essay on the regional geographical changes in Malaysia... (I'm definitely going to mention cendol...)

5. find time to enjoy holidays.

Needless to say, no. 5 , which should be high on my priority list, isnt.

Some ppl say exams and deadlines and shitty assignments bring out the worst in ppl. what with everyone going all grumpy and irritating and stuff. But what if some people just changed that all around?? this is a recap of a crazy 2 weeks that just happened, possibly one of the best ever in Ursies. wohoo! and that means music, food, friends, PARTAY!

24/8 Friday. Everyone can feel the stupid, stupid tension all around as the first week of exams begin!! its horrible!!! omgoodness. but then one brilliant guy (cheh, dont give him too much credit) decided to stock on
Tooheys and Strongbows and hold a crazy, once-in-a-semester, PARTY! wohoo!! unfortunately i didnt manage to get any pics from this event, but i stole some from the hosts blog (terima kasih!) and used those instead! According to our host, the party was to celebrate the beginning of exams! wat a crazy notion, but then it was great! aside from a few spills, like someones KEYBOARD and CARPET by our DJ Barney it was all great. most of us also came up with some chips. Someone also sponsered us a bottle of Kiwi Wine from Nz! who says NZ has nothing good? And then the stupid week starts!! exams are killing everyone, with most of the exams finishing on wednesday. Xiu Qi was going back to malaysia (prob eating yong tau foo now!! sooo jealous!!!) so wanted to throw a party to celebrate END of exams !!

so its on the nite of 29/8 wednesday that they gathered in Barney's room and ordered pizza and had drinks and stuff.. Unfotunately for the author he had a STUPID, IRRELEVENT exam the next day!!! arghhh!!!! but then after going over that hemichordates have a rudimentary notochord for the 10th time, i tot, ahhhh its better to do something that will have better memories.

yeah, i get some inspirations from a comic book, but thats another story.
So anyway, i went over JUST when the pizza was GONE!!! noooooo!!! but then it was a great nite, cos there were like 11 of us packed into a tiny room blasting old school music pretending to be the coolest ppl on the floor (cos all the other nerds were studying lol) We played Indian poker and i lost (twice!) which resulted me in drinking some Mac Callen (again by the sponser of earlier kiwi wine) and DISGUSTING water from a cup.. (hint: neighbour, go CLEAN YOUR STUFF!! IT STINKS!!)..lol. but then again that was nothing to what other ppl had to drink.. lets just say i had the lesser of many other horrendous evils =) Jia Yun couldnt stomach drinking some orange Mac Callen and had to go to bed early... sad.. so then we had a blast and i had my exams...
which didnt stop me from going to Chicken Gourmet later for... chicken! they ran out of gravy chips!! noooo!! again, second time that nite got disappointed cos no food...

and the next day was 30/8, the Day of Bio Exam!!wohoo!! i think i better mention that my exam went well and no mishaps or anything, just in case my parents are reading this and get mad cos i socialised the nite before. sorry mom, dad! but really it was ok! i think... lol.

The rest of the day i was like a caged animal set free!! wohoo! but then again an animal kept in captivity always has trouble adjusting to the wild... so i also was like unaccustomed to the freedom i had.. i think i practically wasted the whole day doing...nothing. thats actually not so bad, but i'm a uni student!

That nite, we were celebrating Jia Yun's birthday! yahoo, another party!! so we distracted her in the games room, while the rest (i think 20+ others) sneaked up and surprised her! you can see the birthday girl in one of the pics cutting the cake =). then we moved to the brescia room for a food-infested, soft drink-invaded, party!!!!! i think you can see one guy in the pics with hands raised in joy or maybe hes just delirious....

Later on we were all going out to King O'Mailleys to celebrate!! wohoo!! one poor guy couldnt go along cos the next day he had exams... which was a good thing, cos NONE of those who went out went for class!! (me included!) I've got a few shots of the action ant O'Mailleys, theres one of Jia Yun downing a shot of tequila, and one of some male machoness overflowing =P
wohoo!! i think that was one of the best times i've had so far. not to mention that absinth i've drunk lol. but then like no effect one.... so sad!! It would take forever to state the 'news'that nite, but some of it includes, drunk ppl, free drinks (thanks Jilu!!), more drunk ppl, love triangles, THREE sad ppl (who incidentally were all pissed by the end of the nite), and happy times for everyone.
After that we went to chicken gourmet, to let the alcoholic effects die away. but i think it backfired cos ppl were all mabuk by the time we finished eating lol. at least Jason got his Chicken Gourmet he wanted! yea!

The trip back was CRAZY. we came back around 1.30, 31/8 Friday (merdeka malaysia!!) i think there was at least two mabuk ppl to one sober person. Mom, dad, if you're reading, i was sober! anyway it was quite a job, getting everyone back to Ursula in one piece. needless to say there were many, umm, incidents along the way. one of which has incriminating evidence lol (rats, i cant post the video in this blog...) haha... i think Jia Yun went back in a taxi because she could walk or something lol. You'd think she would have learnt her lesson from the earlier Mac Callen episode...Happy birthday, girl!!.

That day was like, recovery day... and a few ppl had to throw up (not always in the toilet!!) but in the end it was great. wohoo!

I think what Calvin said was true, in the end, these will be the memories that last, the ones that matter, the friends that are remembered...
