Best Of The Holidays Award

It's rare that i give out these awards, the criteria being it must contain the essence of what makes that holiday memorable, must be characteristic of that holiday period, and must be so life changing. Given the hard criteria to fulfill, there are holidays with no awards given.

The only other time i gave this award was here. Read it!

Anyway, this time around, there is a clear winner. Iori's! Click here for the website! It certainly made my holidays, especially because i ate here TWICE in 3 days!

Although the place stops short of providing a FULL authentic Japanese ambience, the food more than makes up for it.

DSC04155 Not just pleasing to the palate, but also aesthetically pleasing too!

This only cost $15!

DSC04149 Tamy called the the most delicious pieces of dead fish EVER.

Here we can see pieces of blue fin tuna, and the more jelly like part is actually OOTORO, or fat from the tuna's belly. The GOLD

This pink stuff is supposed to be fish fluff! wow! The green stuff is the ever ubiquitous wasabi. The real kind. Sweet and fragrant, with only the "pow" at the end. Not like the cheap quality ones you get in packets.

DSC04152OMG heaven!

There are THREE kinds of roe given, green is PRAWN roe, The huge orange ones are deep sea tuna, while the smaller orange ones are freshwater roe.

DSC04153 The lunch here costs around $15-$17 !! and thats cheap! It's really filling, and coming from me, you know it is. A pity dinner can go up to $60. And so whats stopping this place from becoming a true gem is dinner prices. So we only eat here for lunch. Good enough!

Happy faces from the expert panel of judges =)DSC04157 DSC04158
